CAPE TOWN TO NAMIBIA

On this 2-weeks tour you will encounter some of the major highlights of the western and north-western parts of South Africa and of southern and central Namibia. The tour starts in Cape Town, South Africa, and ends in Windhoek, Namibia.

Day 1: We will collect you at your guest house or hotel at 8H00. We drive along Table Bay and the West Coast and then on the N7 to Clanwilliam in the scenic Cederberg mountains. After lunch, we continue to Lambert's Bay on the coast where we spend the night. We will have a sumptuous seafood dinner in the Muisbosskerm open-air restaurant at the beach.

Day 2: We start early and head for Springbok in Namaqualand and after a lunchbreak continue to Upington on the Orange River. We stay overnight here in a cosy guesthouse.

Day 3: After a stroll through the town we drive to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park in the Kalahari desert. The park is best for viewing lions, cheetah and large herds of antelope. We stay for 2 nights in the Restcamp Twee Rivieren and go for several game drives to the waterholes in the dry riverbeds of the park.

Day 4: Game viewing in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park along the Auob and Nossob river beds. Relaxing in the restcamp. Enjoying the spectacular night skies of the Kalahari.

Day 5: We leave the park for the Rietfontein border post where we enter Namibia. We proceed to Keetmanshoop through spectacular desert scenery. We visit the famous Quivertree Forest on the farm Gariganus and take some stunning sunset photos. Overnight stay at the Canyon Hotel in Keetmanshoop.

Day 6: We start early and drive to the Fish River Canyon, the 2nd largest canyon of the world. After lunch we head for Lüderitz, a picturesque desert town on the Atlantic. Enroute we see the wild desert horses of Garub near Aus. We stay overnight in Lüderitz at the Nest Hotel.

Day 7: We stroll through Lüderitz with its colourful houses from the German colonial times and then visit Kolmanskop, the ghost town from the diamond era. After lunch we proceed via Aus and Helmeringhausen to Maltahöhe where we will stay overnight.

Day 8: We start early and travel via the Tsarishoogte Pass to Sesriem - all the way on a sand road. We proceed to the spectacular Sossusvlei Dunes in the Namib Desert. We finish the day in the small settlement of Solitaire at the Solitaire Country Lodge.

Day 9: On the C14 gravel road we travel to Walvis Bay and further on - along the stunnung coastal road - to the beautiful seaside resort of Swakopmund where we stay overnight.

Day 10: After a stroll through Swakopmund with its vibrant shopping mall and its many historical buildings we then head for Otjiwarongo, via Usakos and Omaruru. We sleep in the relaxing Otjibamba Lodge.

Day 11: Today we enter Namibia's wildlife gemstone, the Etosha National Park which offers some of the best game viewing opportunities in Southern Africa. We spend two nights in the Okaukuejo Restcamp.

Day 12: Game drives in the Okaukuejo area. Relaxing in the restcamp which has its own waterhole, illuminated at nighttime.

Day 13: We travel through the park and spend another night in the Namutoni restcamp in the eastern section of Etosha.

Day 14: We depart early and drive to Windhoek, Namibia's Capital. The tour ends with a lunch. We then transfer you to the airport or to your hotel.
